Baptist Memorial Health Care received two awards at the Lifeblood Mid-South Regional Blood Center luncheon on Friday, Feb. 8.
Baptist Memphis received the top award in the health care category. Lifeblood noted the efforts of Baptist Memphis colleagues dressing up in blood drop costumes and encouraging drivers along Walnut Grove to increase donors.
Baptist Memorial Health Care also took home the Lifesaver Award, the top award given at the luncheon among all organizations. Lifeblood recognized Baptist’s large blood drives throughout its centennial anniversary that even reached out to other businesses in the area to participate.
Baptist’s partnership with Lifeblood helped save more than 1,000 lives in the community.
In 2012, Baptist Memorial Health Care and Lifeblood held at total of 21 drives in six locations in the metro Memphis area to increase the community’s blood supply and raise awareness about blood donation at Baptist Corporate, Baptist Memphis, Baptist Tipton, Baptist Collierville, Baptist Women’s and Baptist Rehabilitation-Germantown.
