Janice Hill, administrator and chief nursing officer of Baptist Memorial Restorative Care Hospital, was recently recognized by the Women’s Foundation for a Greater Memphis for her philanthropy to the organization in its January monthly newsletter.
“I came from a family of giving women,” she said. “We were taught that it is better to give than to receive, and there’s always someone you can reach out to and help in some way. What additional funds I may have, I want to make a difference with them.”
The Women’s Foundation is dedicated to securing and granting funds to programs that enable women and their families to become economically stable. Their mission is to encourage philanthropy and foster leadership among women and support programs that enable women and children to reach their full potential.
Hill was introduced to the organization in 2009, was impressed with its work and became a donor.
“Women are the backbone of our society. Women supporting women and children can help make Memphis a better place. It’s about impacting lives, and we can’t make our city better without changing lives.”
