Becky Hunter joined Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis as the chief nursing officer. Most recently, Hunter served as chief nursing officer of Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 470-bed hospital in Amarillo, Texas, for the past 8½ years. Prior to that she served as director of Women Infant Health Services at NWTHS for 13 years.
Hunter received her nursing degree from Northwest Texas Hospital School of Nursing, and her BSN and MSN from West Texas A&M University. In June, 2010, she received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Rush University in Chicago. She also is certified as a Nurse Executive, Advanced.
Hunter has held numerous leadership positions in professional associations and is involved in the American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, American Organization of Nurse Executives, and Texas Organization of Nurse Executives. Most recently she was appointed as the Nurse Lead for the Panhandle Region of Texas Team, the state initiative for the Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action.
She has been married to Jim Steinhilper for 13 years. They have five grown children and four grandchildren and they enjoy golfing and traveling. Becky also enjoys gardening and running.
