Last year, the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation set an ambitious goal of raising $500,000 from our team members to benefit the pediatric intensive care unit at the Spence and Becky Wilson Baptist Children’s Hospital. We have exceeded that goal, thanks to the Foundation team; Anita Vaughn, the former administrator and CEO of the hospital; and you.
So far, Baptist team members have donated more than half a million dollars to the PICU, and your money is being put to good use. The PICU has been full ever since it opened, and we continue to successfully recruit talented physicians to our team. Parents are extremely satisfied with the care their children receive, and they’re increasingly relying on us for their children’s well-being.
The PICU is an important part of our pediatric services because it allows us to provide comprehensive care in one place. It complements the pediatric emergency department, inpatient services and the neonatal intensive care unit. I am so proud that we are able to offer this level of pediatric care.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your incredible generosity. Your gifts are helping us grow this important service and treat children who need our care. At the grand opening of our PICU, I said the stage is set for something really extraordinary here. That would not be possible without you.
