Baptist team members salute heart month in big, red fashion

February came and left in big, red fashion thanks to all the Baptist team members who recognized National Heart Month with imagination and fun. Across the system, red was the color of the day. Here are some highlights:

At corporate, Baptist team members enjoyed the “Serving with Heart” event, taking selfies, indulging in heart-healthy smoothies and getting their vitals checked.

Baptist North Mississippi was all babies and basketballs. At Hearts & Hoops, the Ole Miss Men’s basketball team beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs during a game to kick off heart month. Dr. Joe Turner Cantu, a heart attack survivor, was joined on court by his cardiologist, Dr. Mark Campbell, the heart cath lab team and the rehab team.

Baptist North Mississippi participated in the “Little Hats, Big Hearts” campaign, a sponsorship with The American Heart Association’s Babies Go Red campaign. Every baby born at Baptist North Mississippi on Valentine’s Day through the end of March will receive a red crocheted beanie hat to celebrate new life and the heart health of newborns.
