The American Heart Association and Ross Dress for Less have partnered to form the CPR in Schools program, and Baptist is a local sponsor. Baptist’s CPR training center was the site for training Lowrance Middle School students, and Baptist continuing education consultant Cindi Johnson served as a volunteer mentor.

“Kids are so enthusiastic about making a difference,” Cindi said. “We will do this again this fall, and hopefully I will be able to add another school or two to our training center’s assignments.”

More than 1,100 middle school children in Shelby County and 300,000 nationwide have been trained through the CPR in Schools program.
