Holidays like Thanksgiving offer a reminder of your continued sacrifice for our patients and communities. Team members who work on those days give up time with their families to take care of others. Some team members volunteer, serving meals and providing health care on behalf of Baptist or through their church or other charitable organization. Many of us choose to give, buying much-needed items and donating money to help the less fortunate.
It’s not easy to put others first on Thanksgiving, so I thank you for doing so during a time of year when it can be tempting to only think of yourself and your loved ones. You never forget those who are suffering, and those who could use a kind word, a helping hand or a caring smile.
We are blessed to have you on the Baptist team. Through word and deed, you show our communities what the holidays should be about. Your service means so much to so many, and I hope you get the praise you so richly deserve.
If you’re looking for another opportunity to help others, consider donating to the Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation or the Baptist Health Foundation in Jackson, Miss., on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 27. Click here for more information about how you can help.
