Men: Make Every Month Men’s Health Month

Today, I’m dedicating my letter to a topic that men don’t want to talk about: their health. No matter your age, you need to practice healthy habits. And Men’s Health Month is the perfect time to remind you of the resources we offer to help you do that.

The first step to living a healthy life is having a primary care physician. Fortunately, we have hundreds at Baptist Medical Group clinics throughout our system. Your doctor will be your health care partner, someone you can trust and who will advise you on how to get and stay healthy. You physician is someone who can catch illnesses during their earliest, most treatable stages. If you don’t have a primary care physician, please visit baptistscheduling.com or call 844-837-2433. After you pick a doctor, you’ll need a way to manage your health information. MyChart is the perfect tool for the job. Many of you already have MyChart accounts, but if you don’t, please go to mychart.baptistonecare.org to create one. Through MyChart, you can communicate with your doctor, request prescription refills, access your test results, manage your appointments and more—from an app on your phone or from a computer.

Finally, if you need help staying healthy year-round, BestHealth is here for you. If you haven’t already, download the app so you can access great information, enter challenges and redeem gift cards. You can find even more health information on the BestHealth Sharepoint site, which you can access from a Baptist computer, or the BestHealth blog, accessible from anywhere. And keep an eye out for their weekly emails, free classes and many other offerings.

If you haven’t been attentive to your health, it’s not too late to start. Use these resources to improve your health and well-being. It will make a big difference in your life.
