Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions Goals

Data show that people begin to stray from their fitness-related New Year’s resolutions now—during the third week of January. Fortunately, our BestHealth employee wellness program is here to keep this from happening to you.

First, the team would say to set goals, not resolutions. And they have unveiled a number of activities to help you if you need a boost. The Go Healthy! Weight Management program, nutrition and wellbeing workshops, fitness discounts, newsletters and exercise classes address the many factors that contribute to good health. They are available to all Baptist team members; you don’t have to join BestHealth or be a member of the Baptist health plan to participate.

Since BestHealth launched last summer, many of you have responded enthusiastically. More than 10,000 of you have downloaded the BestHealth app. Many have started or continued to practice healthy behaviors, such as completing a health screening or scheduling a wellness visit with your primary care provider (9,300 team members did this) or requesting a referral to a primary care physician (more than 200 did this). Another 3,500 team members indicated an interest in health coaching and classes.

I’m so glad so many of you are participating in these wellness activities. I hope you’re enjoying them and finding them helpful. Thank you to the BestHealth team for whipping us into shape and helping to ensure we stay that way all year long.
