Four Baptist hospitals get “As” for patient safety

Baptist Golden Triangle, Baptist Union County, Baptist North Mississippi and Baptist Union City all earned “As” for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group. Baptist Golden Triangle is the only hospital in Mississippi that’s earned straight “As” every year since 2012. This recognition places Baptist Golden Triangle among only 63 hospitals in the country earning this distinction.

The Hospital Safety Score measures patient-reported experiences with a hospital in specific areas such as:

  • Communication about medicines
  • Communications with nurses and doctors
  • The responsiveness of the hospital staff

Leapfrog also considers how a hospital handles two of the most common hospital infections: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile (C. diff).

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. For more information about the Safety Grade, as well as individual hospital grades and state rankings, please visit hospitalsafetygrade.org
