Dr. Charles Fowler to speak at October preaching series

Dr. Charles Fowler, senior pastor of Germantown Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher for the October Jimmy Terry Preaching Series on Oct. 19 at noon. The preaching series is open to anyone in our hospitals—team members, physicians, patients and visitors.

Prior to taking his current position in 2010, Dr. Fowler served for 16 years at Union University in various capacities, including senior vice president for university relations, executive director of the Union University Foundation and professor of Christian ministries and education. While at Union, he also served as interim pastor in more than a dozen churches throughout the Mid-South. Currently, Dr. Fowler serves on the board of trustees for Union University and Baptist Memorial Health Care. He also serves as the chaplain for the city of Germantown. Dr. Fowler holds degrees from Union University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Mississippi State University.

The preaching series honors the late Rev. Jimmy Terry, who served on Baptist’s System Board of Trustees for 25 years and founded Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and Tabernacle Christian School in Clarksville, Tennessee. On the third Thursday of each month, a speaker delivers a Gospel message in Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus, which is broadcast to all Baptist Memorial hospitals. Those who are unable to attend can view the series following the event on Baptist Memorial Health Care’s Facebook page.

A pastoral care team member is available at each location to provide prayer and counsel to any attendee who requests it. For additional guidance or support, please contact the pastoral care team at 901-226-5025 or at pastoralcare@bmhcc.org. If calling after business hours, please leave a voicemail and someone will respond the following day.
