Join us December 21 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. for the Jimmy Terry Preaching Series featuring Dr. Michael Ellis, senior pastor at Impact Baptist Church. The preaching series is open to anyone in our hospitals—team members, physicians, patients and visitors—and is held at Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus.
Dr. Ellis serves on The Baptist Memorial Health Care System Board of Trustees. He has served on the Tennessee Baptist Convention’s Committee on Committees and is a past first vice president of the convention. Michael served as the first African American president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention from 2012-2013. Baptist recognized Dr. Ellis as one of our city’s Spiritual Treasures during our 2012 centennial celebration.
The preaching series honors the late Rev. Jimmy Terry, who served on Baptist’s System Board of Trustees for 25 years and founded Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church and Tabernacle Christian School in Clarksville, Tennessee. On the third Thursday of each month, a speaker delivers a Gospel message in Garrett Auditorium on the Baptist Memphis campus, which is broadcast to all Baptist Memorial hospitals. Click here to see where you can watch Dr. Ellis’ sermon at your entity. The sermon also will be posted on Baptist Memorial Health Care’s Facebook page after the event.
A pastoral care team member is available to provide prayer and counsel to anyone who requests it. For additional guidance or support, please contact the pastoral care team at 901-226-5025 or at pastoralcare@bmhcc.org. If calling after business hours, please leave a voicemail and someone will respond the following day.
