DAISY winners demonstrate kindheartedness

Baptist Memphis

Dakota Doss, RN

Dakota’s nominator – the wife of a stroke patient – said she took the time to explain the details about his complicated stroke, the medications he’d be taking, the procedures he’d have done and the overall disease process. On a busy day on the floor, the patient asked Dakota to walk him around, and she gladly did. Her nominator said Dakota served as an inspiration to her husband.

Baptist Union County

Sarah Conlee, RN, outpatient surgery unit

The patient who nominated Sarah said she was a nurse they really connected with; she prayed with the family and went above and beyond in her efforts to ensure the patient received the best care. Sarah has been nominated for the DAISY Award many times and last won in 2012.

Rebecca Churchill, RN

A cancer patient nominated Rebecca, noting that she was wonderful, taking care of her needs and asking how the weekend was. The patient also wrote that she believes Rebecca loves her job and wants to see her patients get well. Rebecca has been nominated for the DAISY Award many times and last won in 2014.
