Baptist Union City donates AED equipment to local baseball league

Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City recently donated an automated external defibrillator to the Union City Babe Ruth League. The AED is a computerized medical device that can check a person’s heart rhythm. It can recognize a rhythm that requires a shock.

It can also advise the rescuer when a shock is needed. The AED uses voice prompts, lights and text messages to tell the rescuer the steps to take.

“Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City is pleased to donate this AED that will be available at local games. In the event of a cardiac arrest emergency, league officials will be better prepared,” said Skipper Bondurant, administrator and CEO for Baptist Union City.
